Hey Steve

I know you asked me about this awhile back, just saw this thread and it refreshed my memory.

There is no way of pleasing everyone at a show. We ALWAYS have complaint as to why people get classed in mild or wild so this eyar we layed out a criteria for it. Here's how we're working it:

We split car mods into 5 categories, with a max of 3 points available in every category:

MILD CLASS: 5-8 POINTS TOTAL
WILD CLASS: 9-15 POINTS TOTAL

SUSPENSION:
1pt : Stock, Static Drop Kits, Basic Lift Kits
2pt: Pre Fabricated Adjustable Kits, Coil Over Kits, Major Lift Kits, Stock Rear Linkages Used
3pt: Fully custom or extensive Chassis work, Custom Adjustable Suspension, SFA and 4 link lifts

INTERIOR:
1pt: Stock, painted trim details, bolt on accessories
2pt: Smoothed and painted stock interior panels, mild custom stereo, upholstered stock seats, racing seats
3pt: Heavily modified stock panels, one off dashes and door panels, upholstered custom seats, wild custom stereo

PAINT:
1pt: Stock paint, other factory color
2pt: Custom Single Color, Mild custom graphics, Basic 2 tone, factory with flake, pearls, or artwork
3pt: Wild Graphics and artwork, pinstripes

BODY MODS:
1pt: stock, stock with minor bolt on accessories
2pt: minor shaving (door handles, tailgate, antenna), rollpans, body kits, bumper covers, minor bed floor work
3pt: major modifications (shaved tail lights, tailgate skins, front end conversion, light conversions, custom sheet-metal bed floor, suicide doors, body drop)

ENGINE:
1pt: Stock, Stock with bolt on upgrades (air filter and exhaust)
2pt: Motor Swap minor or no upgrades, Stock Major Upgrades, Stock Highly Detailed
3pt:Motor Swap with major upgrades, motor swap highly detailed

As for judging, we take the total points from above. (potential 15 points)

Then judge the quality of the worksmanship in each category between 1 and 5 (potential 25 points)

Then we judge the overall appearance of the vehicle. IE does it flow, attention to detail, is it clean, or is it a gawdy catastrophe. (10 points)

Out of that there is a total of 50 points to be earned, so however scores highest will win. So the guy with less mods can still win if they are clean and well executed.

Good job you guys on the standard. It's good to see something in writing so guys can see why they get put into different groups. It may have taken a long time to do but I think it was a job well done.

Just as a note for those who dont know iLLblazer is Joel from iLLconformity. The above guidelines are for Summer Shocker in Winnipeg and not Dropsicles or Sideshow

Sorry, that was my fault I guess, should have checked that out a little better. It does sound like a really good idea though. Get a baseline everyone can agree on and go with that. I do know these things take a long time to hash out and work all the bugs out though. Good luck with the system.

Steve and Max are no longer part of the Dropsicles, things were left on good terms, and they have said they intend to help with Sideshow. The show is set and ready to go, vendors, sponsors, trophys, show flyers and event coverage are done and in place, Minitruckin', Truckin' will do show and feature coverage as well as Build Magazine, Mike Alexander cannot make it up to the show as MT is moving offices the same time. The MT community has lost enough shows as is, and especially in the North west, shows like this will only help bring our minitruckin community closer together.
Can't wait to see everyone there.

Any questions, comments or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us
